Team Opportunities

The Royal Canadian Army Cadets offer a wide range of activities designed to develop leadership, citizenship, and physical fitness among youth. Here’s an outline of some of the key activities they participate in:

Drill and Discipline

  • Drill: Cadets practice military drill to develop discipline and teamwork.

Marksmanship

  • Air Rifle Marksmanship: Cadets practice and compete in marksmanship, honing their shooting skills.

Band/Halton Cadet Band (Tri Band)

  • Music Program: Cadets can develop their musical skills through various courses and activities, including music theory, technique, and band drill. Local corps and squadrons often offer music training, and cadets can also apply for summer training opportunities. 

Outdoor Adventure and Survival Skills

  • Expeditions: Cadets learn to travel long distances in various environments, including mountaineering, caving, and white-water rafting.
  • Survival Training: Cadets are trained in bushcraft, including building shelters, making fires, finding water, and other essential survival skills.

Physical Fitness and Sports

  • Sports Activities: Cadets engage in activities like climbing, mountain biking, and rafting. They also have opportunities to participate in parachuting courses.
  • Physical Fitness: Regular physical training to improve overall fitness and endurance.

Leadership and Citizenship

  • Leadership Training: Cadets develop leadership skills through various exercises and responsibilities within their units.

Navigation and Fieldcraft

  • Map and Compass: Training in navigation using maps, compasses, GPS technology, and even the stars.
  • Fieldcraft: Skills related to living and operating in the field, including camouflage and concealment.

Summer Camps and International Exchanges
